Rudimar Fleming is one of the most relevant athletes within the group of judokas who attended the JDNJ in Aragua ‘99. The 19-year-old athlete is member of the National Adult Selection that went to the Pan-American Games of Winnipeg, the Pan-American Adult Championship in Uruguay and the Birmingham World Championship in England.
All these international errands might have had an incidence at the finals which was won by Massiel Ramírez from Táchira State. Nevertheless, everything went on as usual there in Aragua State. There were no surprises. Despite not being able to enter the podium in the female kata, Ms Fleming could prove her excellent conditions by defeating Danaibi Majano, from Lara State, at the finals for the 63kgs rank. She would afterwards reaffirm her status by winning the finals against her former team partner, Keivis Pinto, from Miranda State. She was a key factor for the female team of Bolívar State which defeated their counterparts from Miranda State in the team-fight finals. She could take 3 gold medals in total. This made her the most remarkable athlete of the 18th National Youth Sports Games and it also demonstrates what she is capable and the future that lies ahead in her life. “I am very happy about this achievement”, she told us and no wonder since she contributed with three gold medals out of the 8 for Judo that made up for the 16 medals that Bolívar State took.
